I do have to say that I decided to go with a Dell laptop over any advantages Sony could give me due to the fact that I don't have to deal with nearly as much proprietary hardware.

I remember when the XBox first came out, and Microsoft starting buying up developers to get exclusive titles. I thought, "Well, even if they beat Nintendo, there is no way that Sony would let them win. They are way ahead of the game."

I guess we'll see if Sony can possibly recover from their mistakes. A 94 percent drop in profit in one quarter last year has to hurt.

There are several things wrong with Sony, not the least of which is the PS3. Lets do the list:

- Root kitting their customers "You don't own that computer, we do"
- Memory Stick, because apparently SD, CF etc are not good enough.
- PSP, "You already bought the movie on DVD? Thats great! You can buy it again on UMD!"

Everything they've done in the past 5 years has been full of contempt for their customers. PS3 seems like it was just the cherry on top of the sundae of crappy decisions.
